The Everest Base Camp, Nepal

July 2, 2013 § 3 Comments

The south Base Camp (5364m) of Mount Everest is in Nepal. Climbers typically rest at base camp for several days for acclimatization; to reduce the risks and severity of altitude sickness. Supplies are carried there by sherpas or porters, and with help of animals, usually yaks.Tents are set on Khumbu glacier, not far from Khumbu icefall.
